The final evening talk of our 2017/2018 programme will be on
Tuesday 15th May in the Church Hall, at 7.30pm.
It is wonderful that Dr. Allan Chapman FRAS will be returning, this time to speak about
“Dr Charles Daubeny – Botantist, chemist, and reformer of natural sciences at 19th century Oxford.”
Dr Chapman is a very well-known historian of science, particularly in the fields of astronomy, medicine and the biography of scientists. Dr Chapman has been part of the Oxford University history faculty for many years and he has such a vivid way of bringing historic characters, their lives and discoveries to life. Even to non-scientists such as myself!
